A policeman accused of sexually assaulting a fellow officer has kept his identity secret - for now.

The 28-year-old appeared in the Auckland District Court today after being charged with indecent assault and sexual violation in March.
It followed a complaint to the police alleging inappropriate behaviour in the early hours of 5 February.
At the time of the man's arrest, Assistant Commissioner Bille Searle said the officers involved were off-duty at the time.
The man was granted interim name suppression until a case review hearing before Judge Russell Collins this afternoon.
At the hearing his lawyer Paul Borich QC argued for his client's name to be kept underwaps until a verdict was reached at his trial in March.
Judge Collins continued interim name suppression - but only until the first day of the trial, where it will be revisited.
