Quake felt in lower North Island

A 4.1 quake off the lower North Island coast this morning was felt from the capital to Whanganui.

The earthquake at 12.55am was centred 15km north-west of Levin at a depth of 29km.

People in Lower Hutt, Kāpiti and Whanganui posted on social media that they had felt it.

About 900 people reported to GeoNet that they had felt the quake.
