Hans Pucket: Wellington psych-pop band Hans Pucket, who we recently featured as part of our live series Kick Out The Jams, begin their tour seven-date tour on Friday in Dunedin. They’ll be joined by Shunkan on the night, before heading to Christchurch on Saturday for a show with Nakey and Sister Something. Find the rest of their upcoming dates over on their Facebook page and be sure to check out their track ‘Stranger’, from their upcoming EP, Jalapeño, here.

…And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead: It’s been six years since their last New Zealand tour, but …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead have been keeping busy with shows in Christchurch and Wellington earlier in the week. The Texas alt-rock act, who are down under to celebrate their 20th anniversary, have got one show left in the country, which is tonight at the Kings Arms. Tickets are $55+bf from Under The Radar.

Tuff Wizard: Wellington five-piece act Tuff Wizard are currently recording their new EP in Palmerston North and this weekend they play Great Job! Alongside thirtysomethings and Nerlin. As Sheep Dog & Wolf’s Daniel McBride recently told us, “Everything Tuff Wizard writes is perfect indie-pop-punk, the lyrics intricate and affecting, the arrangements simultaneously rousing and heartbreaking.” Don’t miss them.

InsideOUT - An Exhibition: Local charity InsideOUT, that “works to make Aotearoa a safer place for young people of diverse genders and sexualities”, are holding an auction this Friday to raise money for the service. More than 50 artworks have been donated to the cause, with prices ranging from $20 to $700. Things kick off from 5pm at Wellington’s Matchbox Studios on Cuba Street and you can find more info here.

Pass The Gat: Wellington acts Warren Maxwell (Trinity Roots, Little Bushman), Louis Baker and Thomas Oliver are getting together once again for Pass The Gat, a show which sees the three musicians perform together on stage. The gig, which came together as part of the Auckland Arts Festival earlier in the year, is on this Saturday at San Fran, and tickets are already sold out. It’d be best to get in quick for their Auckland show.

SNFU: 80s hardcore act SNFU are in the country this weekend for shows in New Plymouth, Wellington and Auckland where they’ll be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the debut album ...And No One Else Wanted To Play. The Canadian band play The Mayfair this evening, Valhalla on Friday and Whammy Bar on Saturday. Tickets are available from Under The Radar.

Zine Fest: The Auckland Zine Fest begins this week with an opening party at the Audio Foundation on Friday night. There’ll be poetry and zine readings, as well as open mic performances, with things kicking off at 7pm. You can find out more about the evening over on Facebook, and if you’re interested in the other events happening as part of the festival, you can see the full rundown here.

Bespin, Pipekisser and sere: While they’re currently working on their forthcoming album, Auckland band Bespin are set to play a show this Saturday at The Wine Cellar. They’ll be joined by fellow Auckland bands Pipekisser and sere, with tickets available on the door for $10. In case you missed it, hear a recent set of Bespin’s, live at the Kings Arms, below.
