Firefighters remain at the scene of a Gisborne scrub fire which began on Tuesday night.

Deputy principal rural fire officer Malcolm Smith said on Wednesday that the fire at the Titirangi Domain is under control.

He said it may flare up again if the wind gets up, but at present conditions are fine.

Mr Smith says about 20 personnel are at the scene extinguishing hot spots.
