Guns and ammunition have been stolen from a house in Auckland.
The property, on Waller Avenue in the eastern suburb of Buckland’s Beach, was burgled on Thursday.
More than a dozen guns – including seven Caesar Guerini firearms and eight Browning firearms, some of which were collectable items – and five thousand rounds of ammunition were taken from the property. The Herald has published a full list of the items stolen.
The suspects, who were driving a white truck, entered the house through a rear ranch slider and left behind a crow-bar and a trolley jack. a deregistered number plate was found at the top of the driveway.
Counties Manukau Police said initial indications were the firearms owner complied with appropriate storage and security measures, and that the incident was “being treated as a priority”.
