Kathmandu has ambitions for strong growth, mostly in Australia, but its incoming boss is cautious about the outlook for this year.
The outdoor clothing company has posted a 4.5 percent drop in annual net profit to $42.2 million.
Kathmandu's soon-to-be acting chief executive Mark Todd said the result was satisfactory, given reduced customer demand in the company's key selling period in June.
The company aimed to open another 30 stores, adding to the 100 it already had in Australia, in the next few years, he said.
It also wanted to lift its annual Australian sales from a little below $A230 million in the year ended July to about $A340 million.
However, Mr Todd remained cautious about the outlook for this year.
