Residents urged to apply for rates rebate

Christchurch City Council says many residents affected by last September's Canterbury earthquake have failed to take up the offer of a rebate on their rates.

Christchurch mayor Bob Parker says about 1300 of the residents eligible for a rebate have not applied for it.

He says the amount of money involved is not huge, but he's urging residents to get in touch with the council so they can make a claim.
