Blogger David Farrar is making changes to his website following allegations he was among right-wing bloggers fed material to be used against National's political opponents.
The Kiwiblog author says the revelations in the Dirty Politics book show the blogosphere in a bad light, and he considered quitting after the book's release.
He said he is applying to join the Online Media Standards Authority so his work is held to a code of ethics and subject to a complaints procedure.
Mr Farrar said he would also bring in tougher rules for those who contribute to his blog.
