Inquiry begins after man's body found in Havelock North stream

An inquiry is underway after the discovery of a man's body in the Karamu Stream this morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant James Keene of the Hawke's Bay CIB said the man's death was unexplained at present and a post-mortem would be held.

Police were called to the scene near Panckhurst Street in Havelock North just before 11.30am.

They were trying to establish the circumstances that led to the death and a scene examination was being carried out, Keene said.
