Five men with links to the Head Hunters gang have been arrested in Auckland after police searches targeting the suspected supply of methamphetamine.
Seven properties across Auckland and Northland, including the gang's headquarters in Wairau Valley, were searched on Wednesday as part of Operation Salmon.
Police said they seized about $80,000 in cash, a small quantity of firearm ammunition and cannabis.
Detective Inspector Albie Alexander said investigators were supported by tactical support staff.
"Five men were located across these addresses and were arrested without incident," Alexander said.
"As a result of our investigation under Operation Salmon, we have charged these men with possession of methamphetamine for supply."
The investigation was continuing and Alexander said further arrests could not be ruled out.
"Unlawful activity being committed by organised criminal groups remains a key focus, especially given the harm it has on communities."
Five men, two aged 18, 25, 29 and 57, have been charged with possession of methamphetamine for supply and will appear before the North Shore District Court.
