This weekend the Pleasant Point community is celebrating the 100th birthday of it's resident steam train.

Pleasant Point Railway and Historical Society is using the three day weekend to host a raft of activities to mark the centenary of the Ab699 housed there.

Society spokesman Bryan Blanchard talks to Charlotte about the history of the 85 tonne steam engine and how it came to be in their care after originally being manufactured in Thames.
