Warning not to eat raw shellfish this sumer

For some, it's a New Zealand summer staple - but health authorities are warning not to eat raw shellfish because of the risk of contracting a serious stomach bug.

The growing presence of bacteria in our oceans means you now take a risk if you eat shellfish such as mussels, pipi and kina without cooking it first.

New Zealand Food Safety deputy director general Vincent Arbuckle spoke to Kim Hill.
