Firefighters are dampening down a scrub fire in Horowhenua.
Fire and Emergency says it was alerted to the blaze near Levin at around 4.45pm.
Three urban fire trucks and 10 rural appliances brought the blaze at Ohau under control, a spokesperson said.
It was not known how much vegetation had been destroyed.
