Destiny Church is appealing the Charities Commission's decision to deregister two of its largest charities.
The commission announced last month it would strip the charities of their tax-exempt status because of a "persistent failure" to file annual financial returns.
The charities filed formal objections but the commission rejected them, saying the "integrity of the Charities Register would not be maintained" if it kept them registered.
Today was the deadline for appeals to the High Court, and the charities have remained on the register during that time.
Last month, Church founders Brian and Hannah Tamaki moved into a 'resort' home in Auckland worth $1.6m.
Both charities are still yet to file an annual return for the 2016/17 financial year.
