The APRA Silver Scroll Awards have announced their shortlists for 2024.
Twenty songs by artists like Stan Walker, Aaradha and Anna Coddington are up for the main APRA Silver Scroll Award Kaitito Kaiaka, while a panel of judges has determined a list of five songs for the APRA Maioha Award, which honours waiata reo Māori.
The Top 20 song list was curated by a panel of New Zealand APRA members, who are also songwriters, producers and performers.
A panel of four judges, selected for their knowledge of Māori composition and songwriting, have determined the Maioha Top 5.
Over the next few months, they'll all be voting on their favourite songs and waiata in each category to ultimately decide the best songs of the past year.
The winners will be announced at the APRA Silver Scroll Awards on Tuesday 8 October at the St James Theatre in Pōneke Wellington.
