Liverpool have confirmed the club's captain Steven Gerrard will leave at the end of the current Premier League football season.

The 34-year-old has made 695 appearances and scored 180 goals for the club he joined as an eight-year-old.
Gerrard says he will not retire from professional football but has not made a decision on a new club yet, though the former England midfielder is likely to make a move to play Major League Soccer in America.
All Gerrard says it that he'll continue his career outside the United Kingdom and at a side that will not bring him into direct competition with Liverpool.
