Trading on the Nasdaq exchange in the United States was interrupted for around three hours on Friday, due to technical problems.
Trading resumed at 3.25pm (EST) after halting at 12.14pm.
The BBC reports trading on other US exchanges was not interrupted.
The Nasdaq is the largest electronic stock market in the world.
During the suspension, Nasdaq advised firms to route their trades elsewhere.
The US Securities and Exchange Commission said it was monitoring the situation.
