NZ Music Awards: How it unfolded

Electro-pop duo Broods, singer-songwriter Marlon Williams, chart-toppers Six60 and Lorde were among winners at the 50th New Zealand Music Awards.

Highlights from tonight's events:

• Broods won Album of the Year, Best Group, Best Pop Album and Airplay Record of the Year
• Williams, who was nominated for five awards, won Best Male Solo Artist and Breakthrough Artist of the Year
• Savage and Lorde shared this year's International Achievement Award, with Lorde also taking Single of the Year for 'Yellow Flicker Beat'
• Gin Wigmore won Best Female Solo Artist
• Other musicians with multiple nominations included: Unknown Mortal Orchestra, who took Best Alternative Album; Six60, who won People's Choice; and Shihad, who won Best Rock Album
