Police are investigating after a body was found in the Waikato River in Hamilton.
A member of the public notified the police there was a body in the water about 5.30pm.
In a statement, police said the body had been recovered from the water and they were now working to determine their identity, notify their next of kin and determine the circumstances of their death.
That could take some time and more information would be provided once available, police said.
