NZ market creeps up

The benchmark NZX50 index closed up 6 points, or 0.2%, to 30 30 on turnover of $47 million on Friday.

Fletcher Building fell 2 cents to $8.18, Telecom rose 3 cents to $1.86 and Contact Energy dropped 2 cents to $5.75.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare inched up 1 cent to $3.17 but Fisher & Paykel Appliances was unchanged at 55 cents.

Sky City Entertainment Group rose 5 cents to $2.90 but Sky Network Television was unchanged at $4.60. NZX was down 3 cents to $1.53.

Pumpkin Patch rose 3 cents to $2.10, as did The Warehouse by 3 cents to $3.56, and Hallenstein Glasson 1 cent to $3.36.

On currency markets, the NZ dollar was at 68.42 US, 81.02 Australian, 46.81 pence, 63.48 yen and 0.5624 euro. The TWI was at 66.8.

Across the Tasman, the ASX 200 index was down 36.6 points, or 0.82% per cent, at 44 72 at closing.
