Napier Port fire cause 'accidental' - FENZ

Investigators have identified the cause of a Napier Port fire last month that caused smoke to surround much of the city.

Fire and Emergency said it was accidental, caused during operations while removing cargo.

The fire started in the upper hold of the ship Kota Bahagia.

The Transport Accident Investigation Commission (TAIC) is also investigating the fire.

The TAIC's investigation hopes to make findings or recommendations to improve transport safety.
