New Zealand's Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters is visiting Papua New Guinea this week.

In Port Moresby, he is to have discussions with PNG Prime Minister James Marape and Deputy Prime Minister Davis Steven.

In a statement, Mr Peters said he would likely discuss a range of regional issues and the PNG electrification project which New Zealand is contributing to.

"Refreshing links and building rapport with PNG is part of New Zealand's ongoing Pacific Reset policy," said Mr Peters.

The minister is also visiting Australia this week, where he will attend the regular six monthly Foreign Ministers Consultations with his counterpart Marise Payne in Sydney.
