A 24 hour curfew has been declared in Adamawa state in north east Nigeria, following a wave of attacks on Christians.
The army has been deployed and the streets are almost empty.
At least 29 people were killed there over the past two days.
On 31 December, President Goodluck Jonathan declared a state of emergency in Yobe and Borno states, as well as Plateau state in central Nigeria and Niger state in the west. Adamawa was not included.
More than 500 people have been killed by the Boko Haram group over the past year.
Boko Haram means 'Western education is forbidden'. The group wants an Islamic state.
The BBC reports one faction has warned all southerners to leave the north which is mainly Muslim.
