The New Zealand tennis player Marina Erakovic has been beaten in the opening round of the Stanford Classic in California.
Erakovic has been beaten in straight sets by Russian qualifier Vera Dushevina.
The million dollar tournament was the start of Erakovic's hard court buildup to the US Open.
