A post-mortem has confirmed that a Fiji resident Julie Alexander committed suicide.
The 52 year old died at the weekend amid controversy over her establishment of a new rugby academy in the country.
The police have opened an investigation into Ms Alexander's death on Sunday.
They say an inquest into Ms Alexander's death will also be conducted.
The Fiji born New Zealand passport-holder was the founder of the International Rugby Academy of Fiji which had recently been embroiled in a dispute with the Fiji Rugby Union.
