Fiji's opposition National Federation Party (NFP) has been given until 11 September to sort out its financial accounts.
The Registrar of Political Parties met with NFP officials this week to discuss the discrepancies, which total almost $US50,000.
Mohammed Saneem said the accounts in question dated back as far as 2018.
"At the moment we are going through the NFP's accounts. The accounts that we have show some discrepancies and that's why we've asked them to sort it out."
Saneem also urged the public to seek proper receipts from political parties when making donations, including for money raised through fundraisers.
Meanwhile, NFP's parliamentary leader Biman Prasad said he had not yet had the opportunity to clarify Mr Saneem's concerns.
