Papua New Guinea remain winless at the World Twenty20 cricket qualifying tournament in Dubai following a six run defeat by Canada overnight.

Nitish Kumar struck 57 from 44 balls in the Canadians total of 167.

Despite a half century from Asad Vala and the loss of just three wickets, the Barramundi's run chase fell just short in their pursuit, with Geraint Jones contributing 39 and and Mahura Dai 30 not out.

PNG and Bermuda are at the foot of the standings in Group A, which is headed by Nepal and Afghanistan.

While in Group B, Namibia, Italy and Uganda remain unbeaten.
