The United States government is offering a $US10 million reward for information leading to the arrest of the founder of the Lashkar e Taiba group in Pakistan.
Hafiz Mohammad Saeed now heads Jamaat-ud-Dawa, which widely seen as a front for LeT.
LeT is blamed for the Mumbai attacks in India, when 165 people were killed in November 2008.
Pakistan arrested Lashkar-e-Taiba's senior leaders after the Mumbai attacks. But most of them, including Mr Saeed, were later freed on appeal.
Both JuD and Lashkar-e-Taiba are blacklisted by the United States.
The Pakistani government has not commented on the announcement. The BBC reports Mr Saeed was in Islamabad last week.
