A person has died after a crash in the Waipā district.
The crash, on Ellicott Road in the rural community of Parawera, was reported to police at 7.35pm on Friday.
However, police said, "initial enquiries suggest the crash may have occurred earlier in the day".
The serious crash unit had conducted a scene examination, police said.
An investigation into the circumstances of the crash was ongoing.
