NZ market up, Australian down

The New Zealand stock market was up on Monday. by 12.04pm, the NZX 50 was up 14 points, or 0.4%, at 3390 on turnover of $71 million.

The Australian 200 was down 4 points at 4269.

The New Zealand dollar was trading at 82.88 US cents, 77.25 Australian cents, 52.36 pence, 67.81 yen and 0.6285 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 73.37.

Fletcher Building was up 18 cents at $6.88 after official figures showed building activity increased in the final quarter of 2011.

Telecom was unchanged at $2.19, but Chorus was up 2 cents to $3.38.

Sky City Entertainment was unchanged at $3.87 and Sky Television was up 1 cent to $5.10.

Tower was up 1 cent to $1.62. Contact Energy was unchanged at $4.84 and Port of Tauranga was unchanged at $11.40.

Air New Zealand was down 1 cent at $0.87. Goodman Fielder was up 1 cent to 88 cents and The Warehouse down 3 cents to $2.53

TradeMe was down 1 cent at $3.18 and Refining NZ down 5 cents at $3.16.

Auckland International Airport Ltd was up 1.5 cents at $2.46 and Air New Zealand was down 1 cent at 87 cents.
