Police are investigating the death of a woman at a student halls of residence at the University of Canterbury.

Officers are still at Rochester and Rutherford Hall on Ilam Road this morning, but few details have been released.
Police say the family of the woman has been told and they are now speaking to a number of people in relation to the death.
Rochester and Rutherford Hall is a catered residence with 178 students.
