Couple in Samoa jailed for receiving stolen 'dripping'

A couple in Samoa has been jailed for two and half months on charges of receiving stolen goods.

The third defendant, Wayne Wu, has escaped a jail term and been given 12 months' probation and community work.

The police summary of facts said Chinese man Danqun Ye, and his Samoan wife Palepa Tulaga, had illegally obtained 20kg of dripping from the employees of a bakery.

The men had migrated to Samoa from Guangdong province.
