Police say three children have been found in a house containing a methamphetamine lab, following a major operation targeting the sale and distribution of drugs in the Western Bay of Plenty.
Twelve people have been arrested on a range of charges including possession of cannabis for supply, receiving stolen property and methamphetamine-related charges.
Several houses were raided, including one in Oropi, south of Tauranga, where the drugs lab and a stash of firearms were discovered. A 42-year-old man was arrested in connection with that find.
The three children found at that house - one of whom is a preschooler - are being cared for by Child, Youth and Family.
