The newly-installed mayor of the Mexican city of Temixco has been killed a day after taking office.
Gisela Mota formally took office on Friday morning local time, but was fatally attacked the following day at her home by four gunmen, reported Mexico City newspaper EL Universal.
The local attorney general's office said police later arrested two alleged attackers, while killing two others.
Several mayors were killed last year in Mexico, where armed gangs financed by the drugs trade control many local communities.
