The Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph doesn't believe his side under-estimated the Lions, who pipped them in the dying moments and struck a blow to the sides Super Rugby play-off hopes.
A last-minute try handed the Lions a dramatic 26-22 win in Dunedin last night.
Before the game the Lions had only won two games this season.
Joseph says the Lions were able to match them on all fronts and played a good physical game especially at the break-down, an area where the Highlanders have been impressive.
The Highlanders host the Force next Friday and Joseph says his players know how crucial the game is.
