AJ Hackett takes over Sky Tower bungy

05:38 am on 27 October 2014

The adventure tourism company AJ Hackett Bungy has taken over the bungy and skywalk operations at the Sky Tower in Auckland.

The company's co-founder, Henry van Asch, said AJ Hackett now owns 10 adventure operations across the country.

He said he began talking with the owners of the Sky Tower operation about a decade ago, but it has taken until now to put the deal together.

Mr Van Asch said AJ Hackett's trusted brand should draw more people to bungy off the Auckland landmark.

"It's a small operation and we think with AJ Hackett Bungy being one of the world's leading adventure companies that we'll be able to enhance the relationship with SkyCity."

He said Sky Jump and Sky Walk will be transferred to AJ Hackett's hands on 6 November.
