Hamilton Council admits to dumping contaminants

The Hamilton City Council has admitted unlawfully dumping contaminants down the drain multiple times in breach of its own consents.

The council initially refused to name the 99 companies that have flouted their trade waste consents in the past year but changed its mind following RNZ's revelations that more than 200 firms nationwide had breached consents without facing prosecution or fines.
