The Northern Marianas has been given another $US22 million dollars by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to help the recovery from Typhoon Soudelor.
The CNMI Governor Eloy Inos says the money will go towards public infrastructure programmes.
FEMA has already provided substantial aid since the typhoon hit nearly 3 weeks ago.
Meanwhile a cargo ship bringing 90 concrete power poles from Guam has broken down.
The poles are the first of 200 concrete poles needed for the reconstruction after the power grid on Saipan was destroyed.
The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation and FEMA estimate up to 900 poles in total will be needed.
