The Breakers kept their NBL playoff hopes alive with a crucial 89-78 win against the Perth Wildcats, but the victory may have come at a cost to their star import.

NBA player Anthony Lamb suffered a lower leg injury in the first quarter and was unable to return to the court in Perth.

He hobbled to the sidelines in concerning signs for the rest of their campaign.

The Breakers led from start to finish against the second-placed Wildcats to record their third victory in their past four games.

The Auckland side head into their next match against the Illawarra Hawks in Auckland on Friday with plenty of momentum before visiting competition leaders Melbourne United two days later.

Sitting seventh on the ladder, the Breakers remain in contention for the playoffs.
