Covid-19: Australia officially in recession

Australia is officially in a recession after the figures from its June quarter revealed GDP has shrunk by a record 7 percent.

The grim numbers are a direct result of Covid-19 and were widely expected but that doesn't make it easier to take for a country which hasn't had a recession for nearly 30 years.
