Two people are due to appear in the Dunedin District Court today after a gun was pulled during a road rage incident at the weekend.
A 29-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were pulled over and arrested on State Highway 88 north of Dunedin about midday on Saturday.
The arrests followed a road rage incident in Port Chalmers, where the man is alleged to have pulled either a .22-calibre rifle or a shotgun on the driver of another vehicle, police said.
The man has been charged with various weapons offences, as well as driving while suspended and possessing cannabis.
The woman has been charged with possessing an offensive weapon.
Police said the driver of the other vehicle was shaken but otherwise fine.
