Commission pleased by Otaki school's performance

06:32 am on 12 September 2012

Tertiary Education Commission executives are applauding Te Wananga O Raukawa for improving its performance.

New figures show the Otaki institution is now getting 58% of students to finish their courses, up from 43%.

TEC general manager (tertiary investment) Grant Klinkum said he is pleased to see an improvement in performance.

But Te Wananga O Raukawa will have to wait until November to learn whether or not its progress will result in more funding.

The Tertiary Education Commission previously trimmed nearly $1.9 million from the institution's funding due to poor performance.
