The Palms to open as Sheraton hotel in 2015

Another global hotel brand will be setting up in Saipan after The Palms Resort will re-open as a Sheraton hotel.

The South Korean investment giant E Land picked Sheraton over Hilton for the renovation of the 313-room hotel in San Roque.

If the multimillion renovation plan pushes through as scheduled, the former The Palms Resort would reopen under the Sheraton brand around summer 2015.

The new hotel will join the Hyatt Regency as the only other global brand in Saipan.

The Department of Public Lands has also awarded to Hong Kong-based Honest Profit International the chance to lease a property in San Antonio for its initial $120-million plan of building a 300-room hotel complex.
