Fiji's military commander, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, has ruled out another coup before the Supreme Court rules on the inclusion of the Labour Party into Cabinet next month.

A Labour MP had earlier spoken of a strong division within the higher ranks of the military with some former senior officers involved in the conspiracy.

But Commodore Bainimarama has given an assurance that there would be no other coup.

He told the Fiji Sun that some elements in Fiji were trying to destabilize the country, but they would not succeed.

The commander says the unity of the military is intact and he has the support of his troops.
