A search is to resume on Friday morning for a woman seen walking into the sea north of Auckland.
Emergency services were called to Pakiri beach near Goat Island at about 10pm on Thursday. The search was suspended about 1am.
The woman is described as in her early 20s and is believed to have been distraught.
