Guam Catholic Church hires new legal counsel

The Catholic Church on Guam has hired a new legal counsel as it faces nearly 100 lawsuits for historical sexual abuse.

KUAM news reports that a local attorney, John Terlaje, will be joined by Seattle lawyer Michael Patterson, replacing a San Francisco-based law firm.

Mr Patterson has represented Catholic dioceses and archdioceses across the United States and resolved more than 2,000 child abuse cases.
