A competition to name New Zealand's favourite cycle location is underway.
More than 2500 people have already cast their votes in the annual contest, which is part of Bike Wise Month.
Transport Agency cycling manager Dougal List said for the winner, it was a big tourist drawcard.
The overall winner for the last two years has been the Redwoods Forest in Rotorua.
This year it is facing some stiff competition from Queenstown trails, and the Napier-Hastings trail.
Mr List said about 55,000 people were taking part in more than 500 cycling events this month.
