French Polynesia has recorded another 35 Covid-19 cases, raising the tally to 773.
711 of them were recorded since the borders reopened in July and international tourism resumed.
Most cases are in urban areas of Tahiti, but also in Bora Bora and Raiatea.
Covid-19 has also spread to Hao and Huahine.
The first outbreak between March and June, which affected 62 people, was brought under control with a lockdown and border closures.
The government said eight people were in hospital.
It also said about two third of all cases were considered recovered.
The surge in cases alarmed unions who threatened with a strike but the government refused to re-introduce a two-week quarantine for arriving travellers.
