The police have found a high-risk child sex offender after a public appeal for sightings.
Darren Jolly, 51, breached his release conditions yesterday, police said.
Jolly had previously breached an extended supervision order and police warned that he should not be approached.
Jolly has multiple convictions for sexual connection with, and indecent assault, of girls aged under 16.
He was arrested in 2012 after three weeks on the run, a year after being released from prison on a 10-year extended supervision order.
Jolly was found on State Highway One near Pegasus in Canterbury shortly after 11.30pm yesterday.
