Long delay for Foo Fighters, short show for Ciara

09:19 am on 19 February 2015

Foo Fighters fans were still queuing outside while the band took the stage at last night’s Christchurch concert, Stuff reports.

R&B singer Ciara also kept fans waiting when she played in Christchurch last night only to have her performance stopped less than ten minutes in.

By the time the Foo Fighters show began there were an estimated 6000 fans to still be processed through the gates.

Darren Burden, the general manager of venue management company Vbase, apologised saying, "We are sorry these fans were late getting in to the event and we will work to avoid a repeat in the future."

He said "a number of factors combined to make it unfortunate for the 12,000 fans" who didn’t arrive until close to the start time of the show. Ticket stated that gates opened at 4.30pm, and the Foo Fighters were due to take the stage at 7.15pm.

Ciara took to twitter today, thanking fans for coming out despite the short show.

She said she was unaware of a curfew in Christchurch's Ilam Fields which meant she was only able to perform a few songs.

Angry fans have taken to Facebook, demanding a refund from the show's organisers who have apologised saying the situation was out of their control.
